Two Antique Handcolored
Engravings of sea shells

From Dictionnaire des Sciences Naturelles by Pierre Jean Francis Turpin, published in France by Levrault, 1816.

These handcolored prints were engraved after drawings by Pretre.

Turpin was one of the greatest botanical engravers of his time.

The prints show:

1. Cerithe, Corne dábondance (a differents ages)

2. Rostellarie becarquee, Alene tachetee, Vis buccin, Planaxe sillone, Melanopside buccinoide
