We believe this piece is from the work: "Oeuvres
contenant un recueil de trophées, attributs,
cartouches, vases, fleurs...' published in Paris
in 1778.
The designs for this work were made by the French artist Pierre Ranson ((French, 1736-1786), a designer at the Aubusson tapestry factory who created floral and neo-classical pattern books for ornament.
