Heloise Leloir, one of the great
fashion print artists of the 19th Century was
part of a distinguished artists family.
The
daughter of the painter Alexandre Colin, she
married the painter Jean-Baptiste Auguste Leloir
(1809-1992), and was the mother of Maurice Leloir,
an artist who later became a film producer in
Hollywood.
Heloise's two sisters -- Anais
Toudouze and Laure Noel-- were also talented
artists and fashion plate illustrators.
