Zuchthaus -- Men at work in a prison. The Zuchthaus was a prison with hard labor for those accused of serious crimes but not condemned to death.

 

These illustrations come from a 16th or 17th Century book on the professions.

 

Each has some light discoloration and spotting. This looks more pronounced in these scans than to the naked eye.
