Turkish Copper Container

 

We have been told that this beautiful old copper container -- which we originally thought had a kitchen use -- was in fact for dispensing fragent soap in a harem!

We are not certain which is the true use, but we like the latter story.

There are a series of fine holes along the bottom so that soap powder could be sprinkled from the container.
