One of a kind vase in Turquoise with an iridescent finish and a band of thick black pigment embedded in the glass.
Samuel Herman was born in 1936 in Mexico City. He studied at Western Washington State College and at the University of Wisconsin in the United States. He learned glass making at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle Maine, and later took courtesies at the Edinburgh College of Art and the Royal College of Art in London.
This is one of the approximately 100 unique pieces which Herman created beginning in October 1970 for the famous Val St. Lambert crystal makers in Belgium.
Samuel Herman's works can be found in many major museums today including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Corning Museum of Glass in New York.
