This is a test print (Probedruck) which the artist has touched up in several places with white poster paint.

 

The painter and graphic artist Walter Hofmann studied with Alois Kolb and Hans Alexander at the Leipzig academie, and was active in Leipzig in the first half of the 20th Century. He married fellow artist Marga Hartmann.
