The Swiss Artist Paul Basilius Barth was born in Basel on October 24, 1881 and studied at the Kunstakademie in Munich.
Barth spent a good deal of time in provence and was deeply influenced by Cézanne in his use of colors and choice of subjects.
He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Independants in Paris.
Barth died in 1955 in Riehen near Basel. He is listed in the Benezit and his work can be found in major museums in Switzerland and beyond.
